In addition to concerts, the event includes courses, public lectures and art exhibitions. Sommelo festival is the flagship event of the year (26 June \u2013 2 July). The Festival will last an entire week, and many Finno-Ugric cultural areas are represented in the program, especially the Nordic cultures, such as different s\u00e1mi, Kven from Norway and Forest Finn &#8211; cultures and so called Me\u00e4nkieliset (\u201cour language\u201d) from Sweden will participate at the Festival.
