Research

The mission of the Runosong Academy includes the study of runosong singing and other genres of Baltic-Finnish folk music. The research unit works in close collaboration with domestic and foreign universities and research institutions in the field and can carry out joint projects with them. The Runosong Academy engages in publishing activities, organizes seminars in the field, and otherwise promotes research in this area.

The researcher community of the Runosong Academy may consist of employed researchers, researchers from universities and research institutions, researcher-musicians, doctoral candidates and students, musicians, designers, and other experts.

The home archive of the Runosong Academy is the Juminkeko Archive (JumA).
